City & Guilds Certificate (Level 4) Education & Training

Course Overview:

The qualification replaces the Certificate in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector.

The City & Guilds Certificate (Level 4) Education and Training is a first stage qualification designed for people who are working or hope to work as teachers or trainers in any English learning environment. It is also suitable for pre-service teachers/trainers, i.e. people not formally contracted as a teacher/trainer. The course will help you gain the knowledge needed to work in the Further Education and skills sectors, including roles, responsibilities and relationships, inclusive teaching and learning, assessment and working with groups and individuals. You need access to 30 hours of teaching to complete this course.

Entry Requirements:

You need Level 2 qualifications, such as a GCSEs, in English and Maths. You also need access to 30 teaching hours.

Mature Applicants
We welcome applications from mature students (aged 21 and over as at 1st September in the academic year of admission) and do not necessarily require the same academic qualifications as school leaving applicants.
