HND Aeronautical Engineering (Mechanical Engineering) - (UCAS Code - A10D)

Course Overview:

This course is suitable for people currently or hoping to work in technical and management roles in Engineering. This course gives you the opportunity to complete specialist studies which are directly relevant to job roles. You will learn about a range of subjects, including Analytical Methods, Engineering Science, Mechanical Principles and Materials in Engineering. In the second year, you will complete a project developed using your own individual expertise and the skills you have gained during the course. Different delivery modes are available depending upon your starting qualification and whether you want to study full or part-time.

Entry Requirements:

Maths GCSE grade B or above, plus National Diploma (previously Certificate day release), or Extended Diploma (previously National Diploma full-time) in Mechanical Engineering with a merit profile. If you already have the QCF Higher National Certificate in Mechanical Engineering with merit profile or higher, you would only need to achieve eight units to achieve the HND is reduced. Those will GCSE grade C Maths or other qualifications/appropriate industrial experience may be considered for admission on an individual basis.

Mature Applicants
We welcome applications from mature students (aged 21 and over as at 1st September in the academic year of admission) and do not necessarily require the same academic qualifications as school leaving applicants.
