City & Guilds Award (Level 3) Education & Training

The Level 3 Award in Education and Training is an updated version (2013) of City & Guilds Award in Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector.


If you would like to become a teacher, this knowledge-based introduction to the profession is an excellent starting point, preparing you for a teaching role and higher level training. This course will give you an understanding of roles and responsibilities of a teacher/trainer in relation to legislation, equality, diversity, inclusivity and meeting the needs of learners. The course covers sequencing learning, planning and delivering sessions, using appropriate resources and teaching methods, as well as identifying the characteristics of effective assessment and feedback. You do not need to be teaching already to take this course.

Duration: This qualification is taught part-time over 10 weeks or available as an intensive week long course.

Entry Requirements: You need a Level 2 qualification in English, such as a GCSE. A Level 2 qualification in Maths is also desirable.
