The Yeovil College University Centre Experience

Yeovil College University Centre aims to give you a full university experience, including social events and other activities. These are led by the HE Student Liaison Officer.

Social Side of University

Working with students and our partner universities, the HE Student Liaison Officer is responsible for social events, clubs and societies. Then also encourages students to become active participants in the wider community through volunteering and fundraising.

What sort of events have taken place at the University Centre?

Staff and students at Yeovil College University Centre have been involved in lots of different activities and projects in recent years. These have included collecting for charities such as Amnesty International, World Aids Day, the Salvation Army and Somerset Flood Relief, contributing to student magazines and volunteering at a retirement home.

Is there a Freshers Fair?

Yes. Every September, there is a Freshers Fair at Yeovil College University Centre attended by lots of different organisations and departments. Come along to find out more!

Getting Your Voice Heard

As well as acting as the lynchpin of university social life, the HE Student Liaison Officer is also there to support and speak up for you if you have any issues to raise with the University Centre.

How can I get involved?

You can volunteer to become a Student Representative to help get the feedback and opinions of your class/course heard, get involved in Student Shout! or contact the HE Student Liaison Officer about your ideas for clubs, societies or other activities. She will support you in any way she can.

Information, Advice & Guidance

The HE Student Liaison Officer is there to ensure a co-ordinated approach to student support at Yeovil College University Centre. As well as training Student Representatives, the HE Liaison Officer will also help you find the right person to speak with if you need specific advice and guidance.
